DC101 (WWDC) midday disc jockey Mike Jones regularly asks listeners what they liked and what they didn't about a song. Patch asked him to list his favorite alt-rock songs of year — so far, anyway — and he enthusiastically agreed.

Merrifield Gunman Is From Vienna: Police

The gunman in Wednesday's shooting in Merrifield has been identified as a Vienna man. John Francis Wood, 52, of Vienna died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No other injuries were reported when the shooter reportedly begin firing at a law office house in a building that also contains a preschool.

Steve Scalise Returns To House After Alexandria Shooting

After being critically injured in the shooting at a Republican baseball practice in Alexandria, House Majority Whip Steve Scalise has returned to the Capitol. Scalise was the most seriously injured in the June 14 shooting at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park when a gunman opened fire at the baseball practice.

I-95 In Fredericksburg Worst Traffic In U.S. Says Study

This will come as no surprise to anyone who has experienced the seemingly never-ending congestion on Interstate 95 in the Fredericksburg area en route to Northern Virginia, but a global analytics company has come out with a study that labels that stretch the worst "traffic hotspot" in the United States.
