Teachers at schools like G.H. Reid and Cardinal Elementary intensify vocabulary and sentence support, add co-teaching from LIEP specialists, and credit consistent RPS training with helping multilingual students rise to grade-level demands.
   

2. Bellevue Elementary to remain closed Tuesday as school officials wait for latest air quality results (wtvr.com) — Families near Bellevue Elementary in Richmond should plan for another day of remote care, as the school will stay closed Tuesday while officials await new air quality test results. Educare will continue at Lucks Field, and leaders are cautiously optimistic students can return Wednesday if spore levels in several classrooms drop after additional cleaning and retesting.
   

3. Driver, bystander hurt after crash takes out awning of Richmond home (wric.com) — A driver crashed into a home on Leigh Street near Carver Elementary in Richmond on Labor Day evening, injuring both the driver and a bystander and collapsing the home's awning. Police say the driver lost control before hitting the house; the driver was hospitalized while the bystander was treated at the scene as investigators continue to determine the cause.
   

4. CoStar's former Richmond office hits the market after Foundry Park move (richmond.com) — CoStar has fully moved its Richmond workforce to the new Foundry Park campus along the James River, putting its former 117,000-square-foot office at 901 Semmes Avenue up for lease. The renovated Class A building, once a SunTrust property, is now available floor-by-floor at about $25 per square foot, potentially reshaping office options in Manchester.
   

5. Paul Tazewell talks costumes, creativity, identity during Richmond visit (thecollegianur.com) — An Oscar- and Tony-winning costume designer spent two days at the University of Richmond sharing how research, identity, and storytelling shape his work on productions like Wicked and Hamilton. Richmond students heard how clothing choices can express character and self, joined small-group discussions over lunch, and left with advice about pursuing their own creative truths as the semester begins.
