Here are the top stories in Roanoke today:

  1. Health officials are warning those who visited locations of a local restaurant in Roanoke that they may have been exposed to hepatitis A. According to the Roanoke City and Allegheny Health District, an employee who worked at three Famous Anthony's locations was recently diagnosed with hepatitis A. Anyone who visited one of those locations from Aug. 10 to Aug. 26 may have been exposed, according to officials. (WSET)
  2. As part of its outreach effort, the Virginia Department of Health will hold a number of COVID vaccinations clinics in Roanoke neighborhood settings. The first one will be today at Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home in Northwest Roanoke. There is another at Mt Zion AME Church next Saturday on Melrose Avenue and one at Thrasher Park the following day.   3. Led by Roanoke, Virginia cities and counties have begun imposing a five-cent tax on disposable plastic bags as part of a "longstanding commitment" to get rid of them. (Virginia Mercury)
