Roanoke 2017 City Election Results: Democrats Lead The Way
Virginia's governor's race isn't the only thing Roanoke voters must decide. Here's who else won.

ROANOKE, VA — Election Day is over and Virginians elected Democrat Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam on Tuesday to serve as the Commonwealth's next governor. But that wasn't the only race that Roanoke voters had to decide.
In the race for Virginia's lieutenant governor, Democrat Justin Fairfax defeated Republican Jill Vogel.
Mark Herring, Virginia's incumbent Democratic attorney general, also defeated Republican challenger John Adams.

Local elections
S. "Sam" Rasoul, a Democrat, ran unopposed for Virginia's 11th district delegate.
Christopher Head, a Republican, was leading Democrat Djuna Osborne for Virginia's 17th district delegate.

In the race for commonwealth's attorney for Roanoke, Donald Caldwell beat Melvin Hill with 53 percent of the vote.
Tim Allen took 61 percent of the vote in the battle for Roanoke sheriff to soundly defeat McLaren"Mac" Westland and William Billingsley.
Sherman Holland and Evelyn Powers ran unopposed for the city's commissioner of revenue and treasurer, respectively.
