• Downtown South Boston Cruz-In returns Saturday (yourgv.com) — Downtown South Boston's Main Street will close Saturday afternoon for a free Cruz-In car show, welcoming classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, and special-interest vehicles from 3–6 p.m. Organizers promise food vendors, door prizes, and commemorative dash plaques for registered participants, with check-in at Town Hall and entry via designated streets around the historic downtown area.
   

• IDA authorizes purchase of Greens Folly for housing development (yourgv.com) — Halifax County's IDA is buying South Boston's longtime Greens Folly Golf Course to create The Meadows at Greens Folly, a 600-unit mixed housing community. The project, needing town zoning and subdivision approvals, aims to ease the area's severe housing shortage while ending golf operations at a course many residents have known for decades.
