• Tornado confirmed in Surry County on Saturday; trees sustained most damage (pilotonline.com) — A weak EF-0 tornado briefly touched down near Spring Grove in Surry County on Saturday, snapping trees and lightly damaging a shed and trampoline but causing no injuries. Local emergency officials urge Surry residents to enable wireless emergency alerts and consider signing up for the county's alert system so they receive immediate warnings about future severe storms and flooding.
