Catalytic Converter Theft, Car Window Smashed: Vienna Crime Report

Vienna Police are investigating a catalytic theft in the Westwood Country Club and other recent incidents.

VIENNA, VA — Catalytic converter thefts are on the rise around the U.S., and one recent incident was reported in the Town of Vienna.

According to Vienna Police, a catalytic converter was stolen from an employee's vehicle at Westwood Country Club's lower parking lot between July 10 and noon on July 20.

Catalytic converters are usually made up of three precious metals: platinum, palladium and rhodium. The value of the precious metals has risen sharply, with the prices paid for stolen catalytic converters increased in line with the higher values.
