Fire At Vienna Building Started By Fallen Tree
Fire investigators say a tree fell onto power lines supplying the Church Street building.

VIENNA, VA—A fallen tree on the power line was the cause of a fire at a Church Street business Thursday in Vienna, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. No one was injured.
Seven people were inside the Pennywise Thrift Shop in the 100 block of Church Street when the fire broke out around 12:28 p.m. All safely evacuated before the fire department arrived. Crews located the fire in the basement, and a second alarm was requested. Firefighters got the blaze under control after complications from strong winds and electrical equipment.
Fire investigators determined a tree fell onto a power line supplying the building. This caused a power surge in the basement's electrical panel. Initial damage estimates are $25,000, according to the fire department.
