Here's what Vienna police have been up to lately.

Between November 23, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. and April 29 at 11:59 p.m.
A resident advised that packages they had ordered were reported as being delivered to their home,
however they never received them. Our department previously took a report of recovered packages
that may be the missing items. This case is being investigated.

A bad check was written to the VVFD by a patron at Bingo.

Officers responded to assist rescue personnel with a juvenile student who had overdosed on an
unknown medication. The student was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

April 21 7:35 p.m.
A citizen found a dog running at large and brought it to the police department. An officer
transported the dog to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter as an owner could not be located.

Between April 22 at 7:45 p.m. and April 23 at 8:00 a.m.
A resident reported that an unknown person entered her parked vehicle and rummaged through it.

April 24 between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.
A resident reported her E-ZPass was stolen from her unlocked vehicle.

Between April 26 at 9:00 p.m. and April 27 at 7:00 a.m.
A resident advised an unknown person entered her parked vehicle and stole several items including
a credit card, U.S. currency and other miscellaneous items.

Vehicle Tampering 18-003606

Between April 26 at 9:00 p.m. and April 27 at 7:15 a.m.
A resident advised an unknown person entered their parked vehicle and rummaged through it.

Suicide Attempt 18-003586
Ayito Road, SE
April 27 2:39 a.m.
Officers responded to assist rescue personnel for a resident who had cut themselves. The resident
was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Juvenile Case 18-003605
Old Courthouse Road, NE
April 27 3:00 p.m.
Residents requested assistance with their juvenile daughter who was threatening them. The
juvenile calmly spoke to officers advising that she was just upset with her parents. Counseling
was suggested and no further police assistance was needed.

Between April 27 at 8:00 p.m. and April 28 at 8:02 a.m.
An employee reported one of their work trucks stolen. The truck contained a large quantity of
landscaping equipment.

Domestic Dispute 18-003647
Lynnhill Court, NE
April 28 9:59 p.m.
Officers responded for a domestic dispute between husband and wife. Rescue responded as a
precaution and assessed both parties who refused further treatment. Both parties agreed it was a
misunderstanding and no further assistance was needed.

Domestic Assault 18-003653
Mill Street, NE
April 29 12:17 a.m.
A citizen advised that her estranged husband came to her place of employment and got into an
argument with her. During the argument the man assaulted her, and took her cell phone to prevent
her from calling for assistance before driving away. Rescue personnel responded and treated the
citizen at the scene. Officer Rohr obtained warrants for the estranged husband.
On May 3 the estranged husband came to the Vienna Police Station to accept service of the
warrants. The 30-year-old man from Patrick Street, SE in Vienna was transported to the Fairfax
County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Domestic Assault, Obstructing a 911

Call and Grand Larceny.

April 29 between 6:00 p.m. and 6:23 p.m.
A resident reported two men came to his door and spoke to one of his family members. The
resident is involved in an on-going investigation in another jurisdiction and felt the visit from these
men may be related to that investigation.

Emotionally Disturbed Person 18-003671
W&OD Bike Trail
Dominion Road and Church Street, NE
April 29 7:43 p.m.
Citizens requested assistance with their adult son who suffers from mental illness and had not been
taking his medication. Their son was located on the bike trail. After speaking to officers he agreed
to be transported to an area hospital for treatment.

200 Block Cedar Lane, SE
April 30 1:05 a.m.
Officers responded to assist rescue with a resident who had accidentally taken too much of her
medication. The resident was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

Destruction of Property 18-003676
Walgreens
225 Maple Avenue, East
April 29 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
An employee reported two juveniles smashing gallons of milk causing damage to other
consumable goods. The juveniles were later identified by a School Resource Officer. The parents
were notified and brought the juveniles to the Walgreens to apologize. The juveniles were both
verbally counseled by PFC Tremont.

Animal Dental Clinic
410 Maple Avenue, West
April 29 12:00 p.m.
An employee reported a dog they treated for a broken jaw. The employee was concerned the injury
may have been caused by the owner. The dog resides in Prince Georges County, Maryland. ACO
Barker forwarded the information to their Animal Services to follow up on this case.

April 30 11:24 a.m.
Library personnel requested assistance in trespassing a woman from their facility who was acting
disorderly. The woman agreed to leave the library and was advised she would be charged with
trespass if she returns.

Found Property 18-003683
Tapawingo Road and Meadow Lane, SW
April 30 12:15 p.m.
A resident turned in a wallet he found in the roadway.

Domestic Dispute 18-003742
Orchard Street, NW
May 1 11:00 p.m.
Officers responded for a domestic dispute between mother and her adult daughter. Both women
advised it was a verbal dispute only and no assault had occurred. The two women agreed to stay
in separate parts of the house for the night and that no further police assistance was needed.

Vehicle Fire 18-003751
200 Block Maple Avenue, East
May 2 8:42 a.m.
An officer was flagged down by a citizen who advised of a vehicle fire on Maple avenue. The
officer located the vehicle and notified fire personnel who responded and extinguished the fire.

Grand Larceny 18-003798
200 Block Cedar Lane, SE
Between May 2 at 2:00 p.m. and May 3 at 12:00 p.m.
A resident advised he lost his wallet in the parking lot on May 2. The next day he found his wallet
however the US currency, all credit cards and identification had been taken.

An employee advised his ex-girlfriend was refusing to leave the business. The employee advised
the women in front of the officer that she was trespassed from the business. The woman left the
scene without further incident.

May 3 11:00 a.m.
ACO Barker spoke to a resident who is concerned that her neighbors may be trying to harm her
dog. This case is being investigated.

May 3 between 5:00 p.m. and 7:05 p.m.
An employee requested assistance with a disorderly customer. The customer had left the restaurant
without paying for his bill before the officer arrived.

Suspicious Event 18-003812
100 Block Center Street, South
May 3 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
A coach for one of the VGSL softball teams reported a suspicious event that had occurred on the
Caffi Softball Field #3 (the field closest to Center Street). The coach advised that an older white
man was observed watching his team practice. The man gradually approached the dugout and
attempted to make contact with the girls. The coach asked the man to leave the field and he
complied without further incident.

Whole Foods 18-003611
143 Maple Avenue, East
April 25 5:00 p.m.
A driver left their vehicle legally parked in the parking lot. When they returned they found an
unknown driver had struck their vehicle.

Lawyers Road and Church Street, NW 18-003595
April 27 8:11 a.m.
Vehicle-1 was traveling eastbound on Church Street, crossing Lawyers Road. Vehicle-2 was
traveling northbound on Lawyers Road. Due to other vehicles stopped in the roadway Driver-1
did not observe Vehicle-2 and entered the intersection where she was struck by that vehicle.
Driver-1 was issued a summons charging Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.

Maple Avenue, West at Center Street, South 18-003623
April 28 9:24 a.m.
Two vehicles were traveling eastbound in the same lane of traffic on Maple Avenue. Vehicle-2
stopped for the red traffic signal. Vehicle-1 stopped, then drifted forward striking the rear of
Vehicle-2.
Driver-1 was issued a summons charging Driving Too Closely.

500 Block Maple Avenue, West 18-003679
April 30 10:30 a.m.
Vehicle-1 was on James Madison Drive turning left to go eastbound on Maple Avenue. Pedestrian1
was in the crosswalk, crossing Maple Avenue. As Driver-1 entered the intersection he struck
Pedestrian-1 with the side view mirror. Pedestrian-1 was transported by rescue to an area hospital
with non-life-threatening injuries.
Driver-1 was issued a summons charging Failure to Yield to the Right of Way of a Pedestrian.

500 Block Maple Avenue, East 18-003714
May 1 8:21 a.m.
Vehicle-2 was in the left turn lane on eastbound Maple Avenue near East Street, stopped for a red
traffic light. Vehicle-1 was directly behind Vehicle-2 and when the light turned green she started
going, striking the rear of Vehicle-2. Driver-1 was issued a summons charging Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention.

171 Maple Avenue, West 18-003765
May 2 3:02 p.m.
The driver of a vehicle advised she was traveling westbound on Maple Avenue and stopped for
the red traffic signal at Lawyers Road when another vehicle struck the rear of her vehicle. The
striking vehicle proceeded to turn left onto Courthouse Road and left the area without stopping.

315 Maple Avenue, East 18-003772
May 2 7:52 p.m.
Vehicle-1 (a motorcycle) was witnessed erratically weaving in and out of eastbound traffic on
Maple Avenue. Vehicle-2 was exiting the parking lot of 315 Maple Avenue, East to turn right
onto Maple Avenue. As Vehicle-2 began to make his turn Vehicle-1 merged into the right lane
causing the collision. Driver-1 was transported by rescue personnel to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. Driver-1 was issued a summons charging Reckless Driving.

Maple Avenue, East and Center Street, North 18-003804
May 3 at 2:49 p.m.
An unknown driver in a gold Mercedes sedan struck the pedestrian control signal then continued
westbound on Maple Avenue without stopping.
