Man Claiming To Be Pastor Accused Of Sexual Assault In Fairfax County

The Harrisonburg man was arrested on Feb. 27 and extradited to Fairfax County this week, police said.

MERRIFIELD, VA — A Harrisonburg man is facing charges after authorities said he pretended to be a pastor before meeting and sexually assaulting a woman in Fairfax County.

Marco Antonio Ocampos Zamora, 36, was arrested on Feb. 27 and extradited to Fairfax County this week, police said. He is charged with object sexual penetration and abduction with intent to defile.

According to police, on Dec. 16, officers responded to the 2700 block of Prosperity Avenue in Merrifield for a sexual assault report. Police said the victim reported that she was sexually assaulted in November 2025 by a man she met online.

Police said detectives learned that Ocampos Zamora claimed to be a pastor before meeting the victim for what was described as a counseling session, during which he sexually assaulted her.

Ocampos Zamora was arrested at his home in Harrisonburg and initially taken to the Rockingham-Harrisonburg Regional Jail. He is being held in Fairfax County on no bond.
