Metro Running Shuttles Tuesday for Orange Line

VIENNA, VA -- Due to third-rail damage, there is no service Tuesday morning between Vienna and Ballston as previously announced. Patch will update as new information becomes available about Orange line service later Tuesday.

Shuttle bus service is established between Ballston and four Orange line stations without train service: Vienna, Dunn Loring, West Falls Church and East Falls Church.

More Metro news after the winter storm:

• The Metrorail system opened Tuesday at 5 a.m., with service on all lines except the Orange Line between Vienna and Ballston and the Silver Line.
• Regular fares and parking rates are back in effect.
• Metrorail service will operate on a modified weekday service with trains running every 12 minutes on each line.
• Stations that are served by multiple lines may see more frequent service.

MetroBus service Tuesday

Metrobus began service Tuesday on a “severe” snow service plan, meaning service is limited to major corridors only. Under the severe service plan, some routes will not operate and snow detours are implemented on other routes to keep buses off hilly terrain, narrow side streets and other problem areas.

• In addition to the routes that operate during a severe snow service plan, Route 5A (L’Enfant-Dulles) and Route B30 (Greenbelt-BWI) will operate on its regular schedule
• Metrobus service will be available on a total of 81 regional routes

MetroAccess

• MetroAccess service will be restored starting at noon Tuesday. Some locations may be unavailable for door-to-door service. Delays and service impacts are possible due to road conditions.
• The MetroAccess telephone call center will be open regular operating hours to assist customers with scheduling reservations.
