Mosaic District's Farmers Market To Provide More Space For Vendors
Mosaic District, which already has dozens of vendors selling produce and other local goods, will expand onto another road.

MERRIFIELD, VA — The farmers market that attracts many visitors to the Mosaic District on Sundays will branch out further at the outdoor shopping center.
Freshfarm, the market manager of the Mosaic Market, announced it will expand its farmers market starting on Aug. 6, the first day of National Farmers Market Week. The farmers marker is open year round on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The current market runs along District Avenue and will also expand onto the intersecting Strawberry Lane. Th expansion will allow space to increase from 45 farmers and producers to nearly 60. That will make Mosaic District's market among the largest in Northern Virginia.

"The expansion into Strawberry Lane means we can connect even more farmers and producers with the community while also providing local residents with a wider variety of fresh and healthy options," said Rebecca Chávez, director of agricultural programs at Freshfarm.
We hope that a bigger market will also grow participation in FreshMatch, which both helps shoppers take home more nutritious produce and local foods while creating and sustaining new revenue streams for local growers."
The market hosts a variety of vendors that sell fruits and vegetables, baked goods, pastured eggs and meats, locally roasted coffee, prepared foods and more. Freshfarm, which runs various farmers markets in the DC region, took over Mosaic's market in 2019.
