Remembering 9/11: Vienna Hosts Ceremony At Town Green
Retired Marine and Vienna resident Jerome Driscoll will speak at the town's 9/11 remembrance ceremony.

VIENNA, VA—As citizens across the nation mark Sept. 11 Monday, Vienna will pay tribute to the victims and first responders on the solemn occasion.
The "A Day to Remember" ceremony is set for 9 a.m. Monday at the Town Green behind the Freeman Store (131 Church Street NE). The keynote speaker will be U.S. Marine Col. Jerome Driscoll, a veteran, war-fighting defense consultant and Vienna resident.
The ceremony was organized by American Legion Post 180, a Vienna chapter of the veterans organization.

"The brief ceremony recalls the 2,977 civilians, public safety, and military personnel killed in and honors all who were impacted by terrorist attacks against the United States on September 11, 2001," the town said in a statement.
