Tennessee Criminal Located, Detained in Vienna

The lead suspect in an armed robbery case in the Knoxville, Tenn., area was found and later detained by Virginia authorities in Vienna.

A Tennessee criminal on the run from local authorities was located in Vienna late Sunday evening, as confirmed by the Anderson County (Tenn.) Sheriff’s Department on its Facebook page.

Kenneth Bartley, the lead suspect in an armed robbery case occurring in Anderson County just outside Knoxville, Tenn., has been on the run since the incident occurred Sunday morning at a Marathon Station, per WBIR-TV in Knoxville.

WBIR-TV reports that Bartley is facing an arrest warrant out of Campbell County, Tenn., for violating the terms of his probation.

The Anderson County Facebook post noted authorities will travel to Vienna to interview Bartley, who according to WBIR, remains detained by Virginia authorities.

Bartley has served previous jail time for shooting three members of his high school class in 2005, one of whom died from gunshot injuries, according to WBIR.

His attorney tells the TV station that Bartley was not in Tennessee Sunday morning at the time of the robbery.
