Tom Yum Thai Closes In Vienna After Christmas

Tom Yum Thai closed after seven years in Vienna, joining other recent business changes in town.

VIENNA, VA — Tom Yum Thai, a locally-based Thai restaurant, has closed in Vienna.

The restaurant informed customers in a Facebook post that it had closed on Sunday, Dec. 26. It had been open for seven years at 226 Maple Avenue W in Vienna.

The management did not share a reason for the closure in the post.

"We can’t fully express our deep gratitude for your business and support. Working with TomYumThai has been nothing but an absolute pleasure," the management team wrote.

The Tom Yum Thai closure joins the recent closure of Red Galanga on Vienna's Church Street. Red Galanga is set to be an Italian restaurant, reportedly from Chef Roberto Donna.

Meanwhile, the Cedar Park Shopping Center gained new Japanese restaurant Sushi Koji in December. Other new restaurants planned at the shopping center are Mediterranean restaurant Lezzet and America's Best Wings.

Across from the Vienna Shopping Center, Mo:Mo House closed over the summer but was replaced by Royal Nepal Bistro at 131 Maple Avenue W. Another future opening is Yama Chen's, which has locations in Hampton Roads and one in Fairfax. The location will be the Vienna Plaza shopping center.
