Tysons Construction Worker Rescued On Sixth Floor By Crane
When a worker had a medical emergency and there was no elevator, firefighters had to get him out another way.

TYSONS, VA—A worker having a medical emergency on the sixth floor of a Tysons construction site had to be rescued by crane Monday, according to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.
Around 4:20 p.m., units responded to the 8300 block of Westpark Drive and found the main in a stairwell between the fifth and sixth floors.
As medics arrived on scene to treat the patient, fire Capt. Wayne Whetsell confirmed with the supervisor there was no working elevator. Because of the stairwell was narrow and full of construction debris, crews decided to use a crane to rescue him.
