What's Open, Closed For Christmas 2018 In Vienna

VIENNA, VA—Christmas Eve falls on a Monday this year, so many services will be closed for a long weekend and remain closed through Christmas Day. Many services will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Vienna, including county government offices, libraries and schools. A few services such as Town of Vienna offices, Metro and the Vienna Community Center will have limited hours on Christmas Eve.

Here are the openings and closings to know on and around Monday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Tuesday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day).

Town of Vienna offices: Closed at noon on Dec. 24 and closed on Dec. 25.

Fairfax County Offices: Closed Dec. 24-25.

Fairfax County Public Schools: Closed Dec. 24-Jan. 4.

State Offices: Circuit Court, General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court are closed Dec. 24-25.

Community Centers: The Vienna Community Center is open from 8 a.m.-noon on Dec. 24 and closed on Dec. 25. Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) programs, activities and facilities will also be closed Dec. 22-Dec. 25.

Fairfax Connector and Fastran: Fairfax Connector bus service will operate on a holiday weekday schedule on Christmas Eve and a Sunday schedule on Christmas Day. See www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector for more information. Fastran will not operate on Dec. 24-25.

Libraries: Closed Dec. 24-25.

Metrorail: On Dec. 25, Metrorail will operate on a Sunday schedule from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. There is no track work scheduled for Dec. 24-25. For more information, visit www.wmata.com.

Metrobus: On Nov. 22, Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule www.wmata.com.

Parks: All county-operated parks are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Fairfax County Recreation Centers: All rec centers except George Washington RECenter (closed) are open regular hours until noon on Dec. 24 and closed on Dec. 25.

Recycling: I-66 Transfer Station (4618 West Ox Road, Fairfax) and I-95 Landfill (9850 Furnace Road, Lorton) will close at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and be closed Christmas Day.

Trash Pickup: Town of Vienna trash pickup will not happen on Dec. 25 and is moved to Dec. 26. Fairfax County trash, recycling, yard waste and special collection services do not happen on Christmas Day. Contact private service providers for holiday hours.
