Windows Broken In Vehicles, Items Stolen: Vienna Police Report
Police say items were stolen in two of the three car break-ins.

VIENNA, VA — Vienna Police are investigating three car break-ins at the Vienna Dog Park, according to the weekly police report.
All incidents happened during the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 13. One resident reported that someone broke a window in her vehicle and stole a purse hidden under the seat between 3:45 p.m. and 4:34 p.m.
Another resident said someone broke a window in her vehicle and stole her purse and other items between 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. when she was in the dog park.

A third resident said someone broke a window in his vehicle and looked through it between 4 p.m. and 4:34 p.m., but nothing appeared to be stolen.
Vienna Police say cases of vehicle tampering and stolen vehicles typically involves unlocked vehicles. Residents are urged to keep their vehicles locked, remove all valuables from vehicles, remove all keys, and report suspicious activity to 703-255-6366 or 911.

Lawyers Road and Church Street, NW
November 27 12:00 p.m.
A citizen reported that a check she mailed from the mailbox at Lawyers Road and Church Street, NW was stolen, forged, and cashed.
More information from police: The Vienna Police Department would like to warn citizens that mail has been stolen from the US Post Office collection boxes at the corner of Church St NW and Lawyers Rd NW after being broken into several times this year. The most recent incident occurred overnight from November 22nd to November 23rd. If you used these mailboxes during that time, please ensure that any checks, banknotes, or other important mail reached its intended destination. Mail theft or tampering is investigated by the US Postal Inspection Service and may be reported via their website at https://www.uspis.gov/report/. The Vienna Police department cooperates fully with their investigations and forwards all mail theft reports to the Postal Inspection Service. If you see suspicious activity at the mail collection boxes, contact the Vienna Police Department for an immediate response.
Police tip: To avoid theft, citizens are advised to use the collection mailboxes inside the post office.

A citizen reported that his wallet and cell phone were stolen from his unlocked vehicle that was
parked in the alley behind Domino’s Pizza.
