• Wakefield parrot rescue hunts for new home on tight time crunch (pilotonline.com) — A longtime parrot rescue based on U.S. 460 near Wakefield is scrambling to find a new home before its lease ends Aug. 31, or dozens of birds will be dispersed to volunteers’ houses. The all-volunteer Nana and Papa’s Nest is fundraising for about 3,000 square feet of commercial space in Sussex County so it can keep caring for 40–60 rescued parrots and continue its community outreach.
