'Quite the gift': Helicopter exhibit hoisted onto Discovery Museum's roof (nvdaily.com) — A retired helicopter has been lifted onto the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum's roof in downtown Winchester, creating a new hands‑on exhibit sponsored by Valley Health. City officials approved the rooftop placement, and the interactive display is slated to open Oct. 23, with advance tickets recommended due to expected high demand from local families.

Shenandoah University Ranked No. 2 Private University in VA (thewinchestergazette.com) — Shenandoah University in Winchester has been ranked the No. 2 private national university in Virginia, and its nursing program also placed second among private schools statewide. These rising U.S. News rankings boost the city's profile as a higher-education and healthcare training hub, potentially attracting more students, faculty, and investment to the Winchester area.
   

3. 18 Vehicles Vandalized in Winchester Police Weekly Report (thewinchestergazette.com) — Winchester residents are being warned after police reported 18 vehicles with slashed tires on North Loudoun Street and several serious assaults and drug arrests during the Sept. 14–20 period. The weekly briefing highlights ongoing investigations, including a breaking-and-entering case and multiple narcotics-related charges, and directs residents to the Winchester Police Department website for the full report.
