Council also advanced hearings on annexing Holtzman property, selling town land on Island Farm Road, improving sewer near the historic mill, adding West Washington Street lighting, and approving a Halloween trunk-or-treat event. 
• Prep roundup: Central's win streak snapped with loss to Madison County (nvdaily.com) — Strasburg High’s volleyball team dropped a 3–1 road match to Luray but will look to rebound when it travels to Madison County on Oct. 13.
