"My little brother was a 17-year-old boy, very charismatic, full of life, and always smiling," Ayala wrote on the GoFundMe. She noted that Estanislao's death "left us with a terrible pain in the hearts of each one of his family and friends."
Ayala said her brother was a delight who helped care for his nephews. Ayala noted that the family would like to bury him in El Salvador.
"With a lot of pain I would like to ask for help for the funeral services and the transfer to our country, El Salvador," Ayala wrote. "Thank you very much in advance for every prayer for the family and for every donation."
Hernandez was a student at Freedom High School. One of his former teachers, Jonathan Hatchell, donated to the fundraiser and shared his memories.
"He was a very smart, beautiful young man. I will always miss him," Hatchell wrote. "My deepest condolences to his friends and family."
