Man Arrested In Seattle After Drive-By Shooting Near Tukwila

A man arrested in Seattle Thursday is accused of firing a shotgun at another driver on Interstate 5 Wednesday morning.

KING COUNTY, WA — A man arrested by Seattle Police Thursday morning is believed to be the same man who fired a shotgun at another driver on Interstate 5 Wednesday morning, according to Washington State Patrol. A driver called 911 shortly after 7 a.m Wednesday to report a man had pulled out a shotgun and fired at him on northbound I-5, near Interurban Avenue South, near Tukwila.

Troopers said the shotgun pellets shattered the victim's passenger window, but the only injuries he suffered were a few scrapes. The victim told investigators the man who shot at him left the scene at high speeds. Using a partial license plate number from the victim, WSP matched the vehicle description with another report of a shotgun brandishing that happened just 30 minutes earlier.

Thursday morning, Seattle police pulled over a vehicle for driving the wrong way down a one-way street. Police said the driver ran from the car but was taken into custody shortly after. Officers radioed that they had seen a shotgun inside the car, and another officer told them about the Tukwila case. After speaking with WSP about the vehicle, detectives determined it was likely the same vehicle troopers were looking for.
