Washington 2020 August Primary Election: Lt. Governor Results
Current Lt. Governor Cyrus Habib has announced he is not seeking reelection, leaving 11 candidates to battle for his position.

SEATTLE, WA — In March, Washington's current Lieutenant Governor Cyrus Habib announced that he would not seek re-election, and that he was instead quitting politics to become a Jesuit priest.
With Habib out of the running, 11 new candidates have stepped up to replace him, including Denny Heck, currently serving in Congress as the Representative for Washington's 10th district. Heck's campaign has raised far and away the most money, more than three times the next-best funded candidate, Marko Liias, who is the current State Senate Majority Floor Leader. Other well-funded candidates include Attorney Ann David Sattler and State Senator Steve Hobbs, who ultimately withdrew his candidacy.
Tuesday's primary election will narrow the field from 11 candidates to just two, who will face off in November to replace Habib.

This year, several of the state's top offices are also on the ballot, including the governor, attorney general and secretary of state.
