• Bluefield Recreation Center offers junior lifeguard program for youth (wvva.com) — Families in Bluefield can now enroll kids 11 to 14 in a junior lifeguard course at the Bluefield Fitness & Recreation Center, where they’ll earn first aid, CPR, and AED certifications. The American Red Cross-backed program includes 30 hours of water safety and rescue training and may also help grow the local lifeguard workforce for community pools.
