Wyoming Forestry unveils new aerial firefighting facility in Casper (wyomingpublicmedia.org) — A new state helibase at Casper–Natrona County International Airport is now housing wildfire-fighting helicopters and seasonal crews, strengthening Wyoming's aerial response right from Casper. Funded by a 2024 legislative allocation, the facility adds aircraft, on-site housing for up to 12 firefighters, and faster deployment to wildfires during an especially intense fire season across the state.

Data center forum reveals information gap for Casper residents (wyomingnews.com) — Casper-area residents packed a forum to voice concerns and questions about a massive Prometheus Hyperscale data center proposed just west of the Natrona–Converse county line. Locals worried about light, water, wildlife and regulation, while organizers explained how county and state permitting, potential tax revenue, and environmental oversight could shape what ultimately gets built near Casper.
   

3. NCSD1 policy committee considers AI guidelines (oilcity.news) — Natrona County School District 1 leaders in Casper are weighing a new policy that would treat unauthorized student use of AI tools as an academic honesty and digital citizenship violation. Trustees are split between strict limits and teaching responsible use, while officials stress teacher training and student data protection. Residents can still review the draft and submit public comments to the board.
   

4. More Than a Hunt: Hunting With Heroes Wyoming Helps Disabled Veterans Reconnect in the Outdoors (rfdtv.com) — From its Casper chapter and others statewide, Hunting With Heroes Wyoming is inviting disabled veterans into Wyoming's outdoors for hunting, fishing, and camaraderie-filled trips. The group, which now serves 200–300 veterans a year, relies on local landowners, businesses, and volunteers in places like Casper to provide donated access, meals, and support that turn each hunt into a deeper community connection.
   

5. Ralph W. Boynton (clarkcountypublishing.com) — Casper readers may remember attorney Ralph W. Boynton, whose heyday as a defense trial lawyer was in Casper before he later served as a prosecutor in Gillette. The 80-year-old, known for his sharp legal mind, love of sports and strong faith, died September 10 in Spearfish, with a private graveside service planned and suggested memorial donations to St. Jude or local humane societies.
