How To Dispose Of Broken Tree Branches, Limbs In Cheyenne

CHEYENNE – The City would like to remind residents what they can do when it comes to disposing of broken tree branches and limbs.

If residents are members of the City’s yard waste program, broken tree branches and limbs can be picked up free of charge by the Cheyenne Sanitation Division. Do not place tree branches or limbs in your yard waste container. Tree limbs and branches are not compostable and are considered contamination when mixed with yard waste. Instead, ensure discarded branches and limbs are cut to no more than four feet in length and placed on your curb for pick-up. Once this is done, please call the Sanitation Division at 307-637-6440 to complete your free pick-up. The Compost Facility shreds these branches to make mulch.

Residents who are not a part of the yard waste program may utilize this pickup service as well but will be charged an extra pick-up fee which is currently $35.10 for up to one cubic yard. Discarded branches must also be no more than four feet in length and placed on your curb.

Residents may also take broken branches and limbs to the Cheyenne Compost Facility (3714 Windmill Rd.) free of charge. The compost facility is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-5pm and Sunday from 12pm-4pm. Branches and stem sections larger than 12 inches in diameter are not permitted at the Compost Facility, but may be disposed of at the Transfer Station for a fee.
