CDBG funding available for Cheyenne public service projects (wyomingnews.com) — Cheyenne nonprofits and service groups can now apply for nearly $52,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding aimed at projects helping low- and moderate-income residents, especially around food and shelter. Applications are due by late September via email to the city's Housing and Community Development office, which is also offering help to interested applicants. 
2. Scaled-Down Laramie Range Wind Project Gets Go Ahead After Intense 2-Day Hearing (cowboystatedaily.com) — A massive 650-megawatt wind farm just 20 miles north of Cheyenne has been approved, promising hundreds of construction jobs, new tax revenue, and significant lease payments while raising concerns about wildlife, rural character, and cumulative industrial development. Many workers are expected to stay in Cheyenne, and the project could generate tens of millions in local taxes over coming decades as turbines rise across northwestern Laramie County.
3. Mayor Collins appointed to EPA Local Government Advisory Committee (capcity.news) — Cheyenne Mayor Patrick Collins has been appointed to a key EPA advisory committee, giving the city a direct voice in national discussions on environmental rules, permitting, and data center infrastructure. Alongside Pinedale's mayor, he'll advocate for Wyoming communities' needs on issues like water, energy, and local control that could shape future projects affecting Cheyenne.
4. Revenue Committee weighs energy taxes, property tax changes (wyomingnews.com) — From Cheyenne, state lawmakers are weighing tax changes that could eventually affect how much you pay in property taxes and on your power bill. The Joint Revenue Committee advanced a new tax on solar and nuclear electricity, debated data center taxes, and considered—but ultimately rejected—replacing property taxes with a higher statewide sales tax, while continuing work on ways to ease homeowners' tax burdens.
5. Vantage data center gets zone change OK from Laramie County on Tuesday (capcity.news) — A massive new data center campus just 12 miles south of Cheyenne has cleared a key hurdle, with Laramie County commissioners approving a zoning change that lets Vantage Data Centers move forward. The multibillion-dollar Project Latigo could bring up to 2,000 jobs, add on-site power generation, and promises to limit pressure on Cheyenne's housing and water resources through worker housing and conservation measures.
