Alabama Coronavirus Update: Death Toll Increases Over Weekend
The latest numbers show more than 900 coronavirus cases in Alabama, with 6 confirmed deaths.
MONTGOMERY, AL — Alabama's coronavirus case total was listed Monday afternoon at more than 900, out of 4,755 tested. Only 12 counties have yet to report a coronavirus case, and the state's death toll doubled over the weekend.
Six deaths have been confirmed in Alabama, and as many as 10 have been reported but not confirmed by the Alabama Department of Public Health.
Saturday, all non-work related gatherings of 1o or more people became prohibited, and non-essential businesses closed. Supermarkets, banks, medical facilities, and other essential businesses will remain open. This order by Gov. Kay Ivey is in effect through April 17.
