BIRMINGHAM, AL — The past week was full of noteworthy news items, but perhaps none quite as high-profile as the news surrounding the kidnapping of 3-year-old Kamille "Cupcake" McKinney. The 10-day investigation into the young girl's disappearance ended this week with some tragic news, as police discovered the toddler's dead body in a dumpster.

Kamille's death and the subsequent murder charges against two suspects dominated much of the Birmingham news stories this week, but other stories gained a great deal of attention as well, including an honor for UAB football coach Bill Clark, and an arrest of a man who led police on two separate chases in two weeks.

Kamille McKinney Found Dead; Suspects Charged With Murder

Ten days after her disappearance from the Tom Brown Village housing community Oct. 12, 3-year-old Kamille McKinney's body was fund in a dumpster in a local landfill. Two suspects are in custody and have been charged with capital murder.

2 Police Chases In 2 Weeks Results In Arrest Of Teen

A 19-year-old has been arrested after he reportedly led police on two separate chases in the last two weeks. Kenneth Jaleel Miller is being held in the Pleasant Grove City Jail pending formal warrants and transfer to Jefferson County.

Bill Clark is one of 22 coaches named to this year's Paul "Bear" Bryant Award watch list and is the lone representative from Conference USA to earn the distinction.

Teen Pleads Guilty To 3 Murders From 2015

A 19-year-old charged with capital murder pleaded guilty to three killings from 2015, when he was just 15 years old.

A man has been arrested and multiple narcotics and firearms were seized after a raid on a Pinson home Thursday.
