1. Alabama A&M students reach Top 10 in national Netflix challenge (rocketcitynow.com) — Alabama A&M students in Huntsville have reached the Top 10 in a national Netflix and HBCU Buzz "A Different World" campus culture challenge. Their creative reimagining of the show's intro now needs daily online votes from students, alumni, and local supporters through September 30. The university is urging the Huntsville community to help push them to No. 1.
   

2. International Festival of North Alabama Debuts at The Orion Amphitheater (news-usa.today) — Huntsville residents just got a new signature cultural event with the International Festival of North Alabama debuting at The Orion Amphitheater, showcasing food, music, and traditions from around the world. Organized by the International Society of Huntsville, the free, family-friendly festival highlighted the city's growing international identity with country exhibits, kids' activities, food trucks, and a colorful Parade of Nations.
   

3. High gas prices hitting local businesses (waff.com) — High gas prices are forcing a Madison County lawn care business serving Huntsville, Madison, and Harvest to cut back on distant customers and reconsider prices. Owner Corey Austin says fuel and oil now cost his crew up to $200 every other day, pushing him to tighten routes and adjust weekly while trying not to overburden local customers.
   

4. Leidos Wins $9.9M Air Force Contract for Medusa Counter-Drone System Integration (envzone.com) — A new $9.9 million Air Force contract will bring engineering work on the Medusa counter-drone system to Huntsville alongside several other cities. Leidos will provide ongoing support and integration through 2027, with federal research and operations funds already committed. This adds another defense-related project to Huntsville's growing portfolio of high-tech military work.
