  1. Former Tuscaloosa City Council President Cynthia Lee Almond, a Republican, will appear unopposed on a special election ballot in February after no challengers came forward in the race for House District 63. The seat was vacated by State Finance Director Bill Poole upon receiving his appointment from Gov. Kay Ivey. (More on Patch)
  2. The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater announced on Tuesday that the Jimmy Buffett and The Coral Reefer Band concert set for Sept.16 has been rescheduled for June 7, 2022. It is unclear at this time what prompted the scheduling change. (More on Patch)
  3. The University of Alabama System on Tuesday officially published its first round of coronavirus data as the 2021-2022 school year begins this week. The data shows more than 10,000 dosages of the coronavirus vaccine administered by UA, in addition to 72% of faculty and staff receiving at least one dose. (More on Patch)
  4. DCH Health System reported 136 coronavirus positive inpatients as of Tuesday afternoon, with 34 patients being treated in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Of those patients, 15 were on ventilators. (More)
  5. A Duncanville woman was killed and another person injured in a crash early Tuesday morning on Bear Creek Road in southern Tuscaloosa County. (More on Patch)
