- Tuscaloosa Man Charged After Herman Avenue Stabbing: An argument over a missing cell phone allegedly resulted in a Tuscaloosa resident being stabbed on Wednesday on Herman Avenue. The suspect, Anthony Eubanks, 55, turned himself over to investigators Thursday.
- Tuscaloosa Show Still Scheduled After ZZ Top Bass Player Dies: ZZ Top bass player Dusty Hill, one of the iconic beards and voices in the Texas-based rock group, died in his sleep at his home in Houston this week. The band, with a longtime guitar tech filling in for Hill, is still set to play the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater Friday.
- Republican Sen. Gerald Allen Announces Re-Election Bid: State Sen. Gerald Allen, a 71-year-old Republican from Tuscaloosa, on Wednesday announced his plans to run for re-election to represent District 21, which covers parts of Lamar, Pickens, and Tuscaloosa counties.
- Northport Council President Solicits Names For Proposed Water Park: Northport City Council President Jeff Hogg took to Facebook on Monday to ask the public for suggestions in name a proposed water park
