East Bay 'Beach Takeover' Party Leaves 1 Hospitalized: Police
Police say there were reports of underage drinking and someone using a Taser within a crowd.
ALAMEDA, CA — One person was hospitalized over the weekend after attending an unpermitted "beach takeover" party at Crown Memorial State Beach in Alameda, authorities said.
The severity of the person's injuries was not immediately known. Police say they were taken to a local hospital for treatment following a chain of apparently chaotic events at the beach party.
The party was originally advertised on social media for Sunday and Tuesday, but was moved up to Saturday, according to the Alameda Police Department.

It's unclear why the event was moved up, but it happened soon after authorities issued a warning to the public about the possible dangers of attending an unpermitted event, "specifically, one event promotes an 'assassin' style."
While the event was mostly peaceful, there were reports of underage drinking, fights, an assault, someone pepper-spraying other partygoers and another person using a Taser in a crowd, police said.

East Bay Regional Park District officials and Alameda officers were in the area monitoring the gathering. Still, the disruptions became too much, and several businesses in the area decided to close early, police said.
Another party is being advertised for St. Patrick's Day, police said, adding that more officers will be in the area to "help ensure public safety and minimize impacts to the community and local businesses."
