The Public Works Department is proud to announce the City’s continued participation in one of the largest volunteer events of the year — the 27th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day. On Saturday, September 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Alamedans will again have the opportunity to improve the appearance of our coastline by cleaning up Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach along Shoreline Drive, near Park Street. Alameda students can receive community service credits for participating; they just need to have their paperwork that day.
Event registration staff will be located on Shoreline Drive at Park Street beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will assign volunteers to a start site. Volunteers can pre-register to participate and/or become a beach captain for the event by going to www.EBParks.org and signing up for the Coastal Cleanup Day Crown Beach location, or by calling: 888-327-2757 and choosing option 2.
Please bring a reusable water bottle, reusable bucket or bag and your own gloves to reduce plastic waste generated on the day of the event. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, and, under-aged children must be accompanied by an adult.
