Good day to all. Hope the weekend and holiday weekend is going well.
Just an update on what is going on. As you may all know by now, we are planning to have the reunion in July 2012. I may have confused some of you, but the reunion is not this year nor this month!! We have at least one (1) year to schedule and plan this event. There is no way we would be able to get this going in one month. So, make sure you mark your calendars for next year, 2012, for the reunion of a lifetime.
As for the committee meetings, we are planning to meet later this month. So far, Heidi Benson / Mark Canepa / Jason Curliano / Carlos Jimenez / Susie Perey / James McGee are willing to help out and coordinate the event. Bert Barber is my Las Vegas connection and Randy Rasmussen is keeping things in order up north in Oregon.

What we will do is schedule a meeting later this month. For those of you who cannot attend, but would like to provide input and listen into the meeting, I will see if I can set up a telephone conference call so that you can call in and provide some feedback. You will get meeting updates and what was discussed. I will let you know.
As for the locations, here are some updates:

OAKLAND HILTON - they have the date available and I will be scheduling a visit to their caterer and check out the ballroom. You can check it out on line at www.hilton.com/Oakland and look at the facility.
COMMODORE CRUISES - they have the date available and they will have a Meet The Fleet gathering on Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the docking location, next to the Rusty Pelican in Alameda. The cost is $15.00 per person and you can sample their dinners and check out their cruise ships. You can check out the ships and curise line at www.commodoreevents.com.
GRAND PAVILION - they have the date available and we would have to schedule a meeting to visit their facility. For those of you who remember Bay Fairway Hall, it is the same location, but new management, owners and upgrading of the location. You can check them out at www.grandviewpavilion.com.
USS HORNET - they have the date available and we would have to schedule a meeting to visit the museum ship. I call it a museum ship because that is what it is. However, the renovation of the ship has allowed them to rent out certain sections of the ship and have private functions on board. You can check them out at www.uss-hornet.org.
ROSENBLUM WINERY - they have the date available and we can stop by and check out their facility to see what they have. You can visit their website at www.rosenblumcellars.com. They will have some events, usually during the weekend.
DJ ALEX MEJIA - I have spoken with Alex Mejia (AHS Class of '83) and he will do the music for our gatherings. You can check him out at www.djalexmejia.com or he is usually spinning at the Churchward Pub on Park Street or at McGee's Bar & Grill (dates will be announced). He will be spinning on Thursday 07/07 at the Churchward Pub (formerly known as The Pop Inn).
WEEKEND JULY 28TH AND 29TH, 2012 - they are having the Park Street Art & Wine Faire this weekend. A good weekend to have the reunion, as many other friends will be in town to celebrate the annual event.
MCGEE'S BAR & GRILL - many of you may have heard about the truck that struck the front entrance to the bar several weeks ago. All is good now and I received an email from Tim Goodman. He knows that we will be there next year and he is looking forward to seeing us.
MISSING GRADUATES - I will send out a separate email on an update on who is still missing.
I hope this keeps everybody in the loop.
Again, thank you for allowing me to get this going and keeping you updated on where we are. I appreciate all of your emails, feedback, info updates and telephone calls and just taking time to read about this event and offer your input.
Everyone have a great holiday weekend, stay safe and sane and we will talk to you later.
