Here is a great chance to learn and practice your safe biking skills! The Franklin and Washington PTA are hosting a Bike Rodeo. Cycles of Change will lead kids through skills and drills to develop their road awareness and safety skills, just in time to get ready for Walk and Roll to school in October!
So bring your bikes and helmets to Washington Elementary and come out and enjoy the fun. Kids will participate in small groups for about 30 minutes each, so please feel free to arrive at any time during the three hour event.
Skills Taught:
· How to Perform a Bicycle Safety Check
· Proper Helmet Fitting
· Starting and Stopping
· Signaling and Communication
· Shifting Gears
· Scanning Ahead
· Shoulder Checking
· Obstacle Avoidance
