Friday Morning Fire Severely Damaged Alameda Apartment
The fire was reported in the 700 block of Central Avenue.

An apartment sustained severe heat, smoke and fire damage during a one-alarm blaze in a four-unit apartment building in Alameda Friday morning, according to firefighters.
The fire was reported in the 700 block of Central Avenue at 8:32 a.m. Crews were on scene by 8:36 a.m., firefighters said. There was a woman in one of the apartments adjacent to the fire, so firefighters reportedly escorted her out. The fire had been knocked down by 8:41 a.m., and firefighters had the fire completely extinguished by 9 a.m.
No injuries were reported, and no one was home at the time of the fire, according to Fire Capt. James Colburn. Investigators are still working to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.
