SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – Santa Clara University officials said this week that they have identified students responsible for vandalism at a student housing building, including some apparently drawn with their blood in an elevator.
In a letter to the university community on Wednesday, vice provost for student life Jeanne Rosenberger said investigators identified the students who may be responsible for the vandalism early Saturday at the Casa Italiana building, which also included inflammatory writing on a bulletin board.
The students' names were not immediately released.

"Community facilitators in Casa Italiana noticed disturbing vandalism on the 4th-floor community bulletin board and on a poster inside the Casa elevator. ... Following the investigation, there will be a university conduct hearing to determine the appropriate sanctions for anyone found responsible for violating the Student Conduct Code," Rosenberger wrote.
The university is also investigating how surveillance video from the elevator related to the case was released online, Rosenberger wrote. The video shows two males appearing to smear blood on a wall in the elevator.
