Truck Fire On I-580 Monday
The raging fire forced the closure of all westbound lanes for a time, causing backups.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Alameda County Firefighters responded to a big rig fire on I-580 in Castro Valley just after 1 p.m. on Monday. They were joined in the fight by crews from Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.
The fire was east of Eden Canyon/Palomares Road in Castro Valley.
There were no reports of injuries to the driver or first responders.

All westbound lanes were closed for a short time, with full restoration coming a few hours later.
