Suspected Danville Package Thieves Confronted By Neighbor
Do you know this suspect? Police are looking for him and his friend after a neighbor allegedly saw them stealing packages in Danville.

DANVILLE, CA — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who allegedly stole packages from homes along Valley Creek Lane Thursday afternoon. Police said a vigilant neighbor spotted to duo and confronted them. The two fled the area and remain at large.
Police shared a photo of one of the two male suspects. The second suspect, who was not on camera, was described by the witness as a tall, slender juvenile or young adult.
The package thefts happened just days after police and town officials issued a reminder to the community about a rash of car burglaries and thefts from cars parked in Danville, Alamo and Blackhawk. Since Dec. 1, four cases of petty theft from a vehicle have been reported in the Alamo/Blackhawk area, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

Between Dec. 11 through Dec. 20, Danville has been hit with 12 auto burglaries and three thefts from unsecured vehicles. Danville Police Chief Allan Shields said most of the stolen items had been left in plain sight. Other Tri-Valley cities have seen a spike in car burglaries this week.
"It is important to stress that many of these cases are preventable if people keep their valuables out of plain sight by hiding or removing them," Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office officials told Patch.
