• Conviction Upheld for Series of Carjackings Including One in Which Girl Died (mynewsla.com) — An appeals court has upheld the conviction and life-without-parole sentence of a man tied to several 2020 carjackings, including one involving an 81-year-old woman in Downey. The ruling centers on a deadly Pico Rivera carjacking that killed a 13-year-old girl, with judges rejecting arguments that the jury was improperly instructed and that evidence was insufficient on multiple counts.
