1 Dead, Another Hospitalized in Condo Blaze

A Woodland Hills condo fire killed one person and injured another Saturday,

One person was found lifeless and at least one other suffered a burn injury tonight when a fire broke out at a large, three- story condominium complex in Woodland Hills.

The fire was reported at 9:34 p.m. in the 21600 block of Burbank Boulevard, just east of Owensmouth Avenue, Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

An injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment and a second person was pronounced dead at the scene, Humphrey said.

It took 49 firefighters24 minutes to knock down the flames, confining the damage to a single second-floor unit, he said.
