HERMOSA BEACH, CA – It was a busy week in Hermosa Beach and throughout the South Bay. For all the South Bay skateboarders, the Hermosa Beach Skate Park launched a membership program, which will eliminate the requirement for a parent or guardian to sign a liability waver each time a minor visits the park. Volunteers are needed for the Tour de Pier in Manhattan Beach, which will raise money for charities including Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach. Read more here.

The parents of a 12-year-old boy who died after collapsing while running at school in 2018 are suing the Los Angeles Unified School District, alleging insufficient life-saving measures were taken by Dodson Middle School employees on the student's behalf. Read more here.

A Metro bus fire in Redondo Beach prompted a call to replace the "dangerous" fleet. The fire was contained within the engine compartment and no one was injured, a Metro spokesperson said. Read more here.

Also in Redondo, talks are in the works for the upcoming fireworks show, and bigger, brighter fireworks are expected. So don't look for a new firework display to watch just yet – a solution may be in the works. Read more here.
