District 1 Supervisor Haggerty announced earlier this year he will not seek re-election when his current term expires in January 2021 to spend more time with family. The long-time supervisor has held the post since November 1996 and is serving his sixth (and final) four-year term.
District 4 Supervisor Nate Miley and District 5 Supervisor Keith Carson both notched easy victories, finishing well over the 50 percent required to avoid a runoff.
Miley, who has represented Pleasanton, Castro Valley and part of Oakland for 20 years, had 67.2 percent of the vote compared to only 32.8 percent for environmental community organizer Esther Goolsby.
Carson, who has represented North Oakland, Piedmont, Emeryville, Berkeley and Albany for 28 years, had 79.67 percent and Albany Mayor Nick Pilch only garnered 20.33 percent.
