East Avenue Visioning Week: Livermore Residents Invited To Brainstorm

Join community discussion & add your two cents to the future of a reimagined East Avenue at sessions planned Sept. 19-22.

LIVERMORE, CA — The City of Livermore is inviting the community to its "Tactical East Avenue Visioning Week," Sept. 19-22 — a mission aiming to create a "reimagined" transformation for East Avenue.

The Visioning Week sessions, two public workshops and stakeholder meetings, will be held at the Civic Center Library.

Part of Phase II of the East Avenue Corridor Study, city officials and consultant Street Plans are preparing a series of interactive planning activities to create a "future, aspirational vision" for the street, the city said.

"The future vision of the street will help inform Tactical East Avenue, a six-month pilot project that will evaluate elements of the vision before permanent investments are made," Livermore officials said.

The opening workshop is Monday, Sept. 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., as the city and Street Plans deliver a presentation about what to expect during Visioning Week. The community and project team will brainstorm "a reimagined East Avenue," discussing the street's character and possibilities for a future transformation.

During the week Tuesday through Thursday, Street Plans will offer "drop-in studio" concept drawings and visualizations of elements the community liked best during the opening workshop.

At the final workshop, Thursday, Sept. 22, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the public can view the visuals and provide input. Drawings will represent both the long-term vision of East Avenue and the temporary pilot project, the city said.
