$447.8 Million Winning Powerball Ticket Sold In California

The winner "is strongly encouraged to sign the back of their ticket in ink, keep it in a safe place where they'll remember," and cash it in.

CALIFORNIA - One Powerball ticket sold in California is worth $435 million, according to the California Lottery website. The multi-state Powerball website reports that the jackpot had actually grown to $447.8 million.

The winning Powerball numbers are 20, 26, 32, 38, 58 and the Powerball 3.

"Tonight’s winner is strongly encouraged to sign the back of their ticket in ink, keep it in a safe place where they’ll remember and visit any of the Lottery’s nine district office locations as soon as possible," California Lottery officials said Saturday. "Tonight’s jackpot winner has one year from the draw date to claim their prize."

According to the California lottery, the winning ticket was sold at:

  • MARIETTA LIQUOR & DELI
  • 27985 BRADLEY RD,
  • SUN CITY CA 92586

Incredibly, this is not the biggest Powerball jackpot in California history. That distinction belongs to Marvin and Mae Acosta, who claimed $528.8 million from the Jan. 13, 2016 Powerball jackpot of nearly $1.6 billion. Two other winning tickets were sold in Tennessee and Florida. Lottery officials say the jackpot was the largest in U.S. lottery history.

The winner can choose to collect $447.8 million spread out over 30 years, or they can also choose a lump sum payment of $279.1 million.

Two California tickets matched five of five numbers but missed the Powerball. Each of those tickets is worth $322,016.
