Diesel Spill Gluts I-5 Freeway, HAZMAT Induced SIG Alert: Patch PM

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — What your neighbors are talking about in Orange county, Monday: Traffic, collisions and courts. Residents woke up Monday morning to diesel spills on I-5 and disaster for a truck load of produce. It took over 12 hours for emergency vehicles to clean up the mess of a semi truck that sideswiped a guardrail and went down, tearing open the diesel tanks as it went.

On Sunday morning, two separate but simultaneous 3 a.m. crashes on the 91 Freeway left 9 injured, and the drivers at the separate locations were each seriously according to officials.

Last week's Laguna Hills murder saw charges filed today. The victim's highly decorated United States Marine husband was charged in the brutal shooting murder, and is being held on $1 million dollars, bail. The pair were estranged, the children home at the time of the shooting according to initial reports.

We learned more this weekend about a former Mission Viejo elementary school teacher who was found murdered in a wealthy part of Montego Bay, in Jamaica one week ago. Her death remains shrouded in mystery as officials seek answers.

A Seal Beach man admitted guilt in the drugged driving crash that killed a German tourist in that same city. He will be sentenced for involuntary manslaughter and other charges in December.
