This 1,225-unit plan may be different (sfchronicle.com) — A massive 1,225-unit housing proposal at Pacifica's long-contested quarry is testing state housing laws against the city's voter-approved limits on development. The planning commission has already rejected the builder's-remedy project, and the City Council is expected to do the same, likely sending the fight to the courts. Residents face big questions about traffic, endangered species, city finances, and how much development should reshape this coastal open space.

- Friday 9/4/2026 - a rollercoaster of a day for photography conditions with the whales in Pacifica that had highs and lows.
