Creativity with Concrete: Engineering, Ecosystem, and the Los Angeles River

Culture in the
Canyon at Chautauqua Series - After devastating floods in the early 20th
century a system of flood control channels was built for the Los Angeles River.
The 21st century has since seen strong interest in restoring ecosystem function
to the river. With partners, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers developed a
recommended restoration plan. Hear some of the creative concepts for our
concrete river. Meet at Woodland Hall. 1.5 hours. Presented by Josephine R.
